Our first performance of the season took place in early September at Juniper Village, where we had so many performers that we ran over our allotted time! We played varies personal selections and oldies for our audience, and afterwards, our performers met up downtown to get lunch together.
LifeLink was a smaller event than Juniper, but our members had an amazing time performing Disney and other singalong songs for our audience of students with disabilities. We are told that they always look forward to us performing, and we feel the same way about getting to perform for and speak with them every month.
Our latest nursing home event was this past weekend, when we went to the Oaks and performed everything from classical music to pop songs. For this performance, we had enough time to chat with the residents, and they told us multiple times how much they enjoyed our performance and our company. They asked us to come back again soon, and we hope to do so!
Aside from our performances, we have had two big socials: one where we ventured to the Arboretum in the nice fall weather to play soccer and frisbee, and one where we went to Whipple Dam, a state park, and hiked and explored the area. We've really enjoyed taking advantage of the beautiful weather before it gets cold again!
Tomorrow, we look forward to our first elementary school performance of the semester. The first month of Music Service Club has been packed with events, which we love, and we hope our audience has enjoyed it as much as we have.
