PSU Music Service Club has done a lot in the past few months! We have been lucky enough to nearly double our number of service events from last year, and every day we’re more thrilled to see the response from our community to the power of music. So what exactly have we been up to?
Well, let us tell you!
We recently joined with UNICEF to perform at their annual Snowflake Ball, a great cause for kids across the world. A few of us collaborated to perform popular tunes; a string quartet brought class; and many more people and groups performed as well! It was tons of fun, and the performances were well-received by everyone.
Speaking of general body meetings, the State College weather seems to be conspiring to keep us from having them! We’ve had to cancel two meetings so far due to snow and ice. That hasn’t stopped us, though - this week, the Club’s exec board will be partnering with Schlow library in our first collaboration with a public community organisation! We’re very excited to help kids and parents boogie to Pajama-themed stories and tunes. If you're in town and you have a little one, join us!
We’ve had so many great nursing home events thanks to our nursing homes chair. So from our members and, I’m sure, the residents we’ve played for, thank you Allison!
Next on our plate is our biggest event of the year, where we’ll travel to Hershey Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald House to play and bring joy to patients and families of patients. We’ll also visit Hershey’s Chocolate World to round out the day!
No matter where we go next, the members of Music Service Club are sure to bring fun and happiness to the people in our community.
